Rationale for Selection:
I chose this document because it helps to show my versatility as a writer. It was my first time being exposed to proposal writing, and I had no prior knowledge of this genre going into the course.
I took this course during my first semester of the graduate program. This work provides a good starting point to compare the work done in later semesters.
Overview:
This assignment was done for the final project in ENC6247 Proposal Writing. The course required us to create a proposal on behalf of a non-profit organization seeking a grant from a local company to help benefit the community's youth. I decided to write the proposal on behalf of DOCK, which provides a safe and enriching environment for the kids and teens of Brevard County’s low-income neighborhoods. I wrote the proposal seeking a grant from Northrop Grumman, a successful aerospace engineering corporation, to sponsor the Education Exhibition for DOCK's youth. The exhibition would give the youth more convenient and affordable access to college resources and other scholastic information.
